At the September 12 Special Council meeting regarding the Carnarvon Park public engagement results, Council made the following decisions:

• That Option 4, "Enclosing the Pickleball Court and incorporating Housing above", outlined in the staff report titled, "Carnarvon Park Master Plan Refresh and Main Building Options Analysis – Public Engagement Summary" be removed from consideration.
• That staff be directed to advance to the next phase of detailed technical analysis on Option 3, "Large Pavilion with Childcare,”with the inclusion of an evaluation and costing for the implementation of a third floor and/or a basement to the Main Building.
  • And that staff be directed to advance to the next phase of detailed technical analysis on Option 2, "Pavilion with Community Room"
• That staff provide options for moving the pickleball and/or tennis courts to the location of where the current parking lot is, on the northwest side of the park during the technical analysis of Option 2.

What’s next?

Staff are preparing a grant application that is due on Oct 15, as well as working on the next phase of the technical report for Council. This follow-up report is expected to be presented at a public meeting in November
