The District of Oak Bay is undertaking a playground equipment replacement program to update the playgrounds in our Parks system over the next 5+ years.
The first playground to be updated was at Henderson Kiwanis Park.
The second playground to be updated is at Windsor Park located on Currie Road and Transit Road in Oak Bay. Through an open request for proposals, the District has selected Canadian Recreation Solutions as the successful bid.
Windsor Park Playground will close starting Monday September 16, 2024 to allow for the installation of new playground equipment.
During the Council Meeting on July 8, 2024, a contract was awarded for the replacement of the playground equipment at Windsor Park.
This decision followed a survey where design option 2 (pictured right) received the most public support and has been selected for installation.
The removal and excavation of the existing Windsor playground will begin on September 16, 2024, with the installation of the new playground expected to be completed by the end of October 2024.
