Shape How We Engage With You
The District of Oak Bay is in the process of developing a public engagement framework. What does this framework do? It helps guide District staff, Council and our community on when, how and why we connect with residents for input on key decisions, projects and priorities.
From how you like to be engaged in projects to the types of projects you care most about, we want to hear from you! The District wants your in input to inform the creation of a Public Engagement Framework to be brought forward to Oak Bay Council.
The Public Engagement Framework questionnaire ran from July 22, 2025 - August 15, 2025. The feedback received from the questionnaire is being used to inform the draft Public Engagement Framework that will be coming before Council this Fall.
What is Public Engagement?
Public engagement, also referred to as community engagement, is the process of informing and bringing in input (when possible) from the community and public partners on projects, policies and initiatives.
Public Engagement Framework
The Community Engagement Framework (2025) was approved by Oak Bay Council at the Monday, Sept. 15 Special Council Meeting. Staff and the consultant will now begin work on a Toolkit for staff to use, incorporating the Framework in future work.
