The District of Oak Bay is undertaking a playground equipment replacement program to update the playgrounds in our Parks system over the next 5+ years.

The first playground to be updated is at Henderson Kiwanis Park located on Arden Road, just off Henderson Road in North Oak Bay. Through an open request for proposals, the District has selected Habitat Systems Inc. as the successful bid.

Thurs. Oct. 12

At Tuesday's (Oct. 10) Council Meeting, Council approved the awarding of a contract to replace the playground equipment at Kiwanis Henderson Park.

This followed a survey completed in September 2023 in which the design "Treetops" (option 1, pictured right) received the most public votes and has been selected as the design to be installed. The estimated installation of the playground is March 2024.

Henderson Kiwanis Park is the first of a planned series of playground equipment upgrades in the District of Oak Bay.
