About the Pedestrian and Sidewalk Master Plan Project
The Pedestrian and Sidewalk Master Plan provides an opportunity to build an inclusive and connected pedestrian network that strengthens the quality of life for our community. Enhancing the pedestrian network also helps to improve connections between other modes, such as transit. The key is to ensure connections are meaningful and provide continuous and direct routes that are safe, comfortable, enjoyable, and navigable for users of all ages and abilities.
The objectives of the Pedestrian and Sidewalk Master Plan are to:
1. Identify barriers to walking and other emerging issues. Develop strategies to address them
2. Recommend new sidewalk locations and missing links within the network
3. Develop a Sidewalk Priority Index with cost estimate
4. Develop pedestrian and sidewalk design standards
5. Develop a implementation and funding plan
