Committee and Commission Policy - One Year Review Volunteer Survey

Committee and Commission Policy - One Year Review Volunteer Survey

The District of Oak Bay sincerely appreciates the time and efforts of its advisory body volunteers in sharing their expertise and knowledge to help advance the work of Council and the District as a whole. We recognize that your volunteer experience over the past few months has been far from normal – the District is incredibly grateful to all of you for your patience and willingness to engage despite the limitations of electronic meetings, the strain of the ongoing pandemic and the added complexities as staff worked to implement several new policies and procedures.

As you may be aware, Council’s new (2020) Committee and Commission Policy includes a formal commitment to review the District’s advisory body structure and mandates on a regular basis to ensure continued alignment with Council’s strategic priorities and corporate objectives. This first review is also intended to provide an opportunity for Council to assess the effectiveness of the new policy framework.

The volunteer perspective on what is working well and areas for improvement is an important piece of this initiative, and therefore both Council and staff are hoping that you will take a few moments to complete this survey. The survey is anonymous – staff will review the feedback to help develop options and recommendations for Council’s consideration regarding the advisory body structure, mandates, and related policies. A copy of the full responses will be included as an attachment to the staff report, as part of a public agenda package – any responses/comments that include identifiable personal data will be redacted to maintain anonymity.

If you have any questions, please contact Corporate Services at 250-598-3311 or administration@oakbay.ca. Thank you for your input and contribution to the community!
