Walking history - Midland Circle

4 August 2020

Alan McK - streetcars for the scenic stops. I had heard stories that bits of the street car tracks were visible in the turning circle on Midland in Uplands. A couple of months ago I was so bored with the lockdown that I went to look for them. And I did. One photo shows a pothole with the steel track at the bottom. I actually touched it. The other traces the tracks around the circle, presumably the steel rails underneath weaken the blacktop above it. In the unlikely event that the pothole has been filled, the shadow tracks will still be visible and unmistakable.
