June sorts newspaper cuttings for the local history reference files
Open hours: The Archives were open to the public for enquiries, and in person by appointment, 9.30-4 Tuesdays and Fridays, with Tuesdays 10-1 as drop-in hours.
Enquiries: 17, of which 5 in person. Running total for 2023: 149.We've now passed the yearly totals for 2020, 2021 and 2022.
On-site volunteer hours logged: 22
Volunteer projects:
- municipal demolished-property files indexing
- reference files overhaul & adding 2 recent large accessions of news cuttings on Oak Bay topics
- physical numbering of items in a new large accession of personal papers
- maps survey: listing and photographing rolled oversize maps/plans/drawings, hitherto undescribed
- tagging (subject indexing) Taylor family photos online - remote project
- oral history transcripts - checking/revising
