Help improve accessibility in Oak Bay!
The District of Oak bay is looking for people with accessibility challenges, lived experience of disability or those involved in local disability-serving organizations to serve on our Accessibility Advisory Committee.
Candidates may also represent a broad range of groups such as, but not limited to: Indigenous Peoples, faith-based groups, LGBTQIA2S+, newcomers, new Canadians, people of diverse ethnic or cultural origin, seniors, women and youth.
The Committee will help Council and District staff develop an Accessibility Action Plan that will help to improve the livability, inclusivity and accessibility for persons with disabilities, who live, work and play in Oak Bay.
The Committee may also respond to referrals from Council or requests for advice from staff to address accessibility issues related to District policies, programs, services, built environments, infrastructure and outdoor spaces
Council appoints members for two-year terms, with the option to renew at the end of the term.
